Main Dining Room | A conversation piece at the Milano Inn has been the dazzling mural that courses around all four walls of the main dining room, telling the story of the Allied liberation of Italy during World War II. It was created by Sergeant Donald Peters in 1947 at the behest of the Modaffari family. The Modaffaris were admirers of Peters's art, and they commissioned him to paint a mural capturing a moment in their homeland that was near and dear to their hearts and legacy.
